After you register your account, you will receive an email requesting you validate your email address. You must click the link in the email to validate your account. Bluebird Self Storage Rental Agreements are month-to-month, with no long-term commitment or minimum stay. The rental term is a minimum of one month. Your rental agreement renews for the next month if you have not vacated your space and notified our office by the payment due date.
Many customers prefer our automatic credit card payment option. When you sign up for auto charge, we will charge your credit card at the beginning of each month saving you the trouble of mailing in a check. Other payment options include mailing a check, paying in person at your Bluebird Self Storage office or paying right here on our website at Make a Payment. The choice is yours!
We accept Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover® at our store offices and here on our website. To make your payment online, Login and choose Make a Payment.
Bluebird Self Storage also accepts cheque and cash payments at our store offices. If you are mailing your cheque, please mail it to your local Bluebird Self Storage store office and reference your space number on the check.
If you prefer to make payment through your bank's bill payment service, please set your local Bluebird Self Storage store office as the payment destination, and reference your space number in the payment (usually as the account number).
Payments are due monthly on your payment due date. The payment due date may vary based on Bluebird Self Storage location and your rental date.
Yes, you may set up a Payment Reminder by logging in and choosing My Alerts. The Payment Reminder will be sent to the email address you specify on any day of the month that you choose.
Bluebird Self Storage follows all provincial laws governing fees for late payments and liens on severely delinquent accounts. In most cases, customers will have until close of business on the 5th day of the month before a late fee is assessed. A late fee is assessed 5 days after the payment due date, and unit access is restricted. An additional late fee may be applied 20 days after your payment due date if no payment has been received. Should payment be more than one month late, the account enters a "lien" status in which additional fees are posted to cover associated legal expenses. Once an account is in "lien" status all payments must be made at the store office with cash, money order, or certified cheque.
Auctions are a legal means to clear items from a space when a customer has not made their contractual rental payments; each is conducted according to provincial laws. However, auctions are a last resort and something Bluebird Self Storage would rather not do. It is in the best interest of Bluebird Self Storage and the delinquent customer to come to a settlement and avoid the heartache and expense of conducting an auction of the items in the space. If you find that you are severely past-due, please stay in contact with us so we can resolve the matter quickly and avoid this process.
Yes, we require a Vacate Notice. You may submit this notice on the same day that you clear out your space and remove your lock. This is very important - a lock indicates you are still occupying the unit and your Rental Agreement will be renewed and your account charged. The law prohibits us from removing your lock without special consent from you. Please see our Vacate Notice Procedures for more information and the Vacate Notice form.
Yes, it is in everyone's best interest that our customers carry insurance. Just like an apartment complex, Bluebird Self Storage insures our buildings and grounds and our customers insure the items they put into storage. We require all customers to provide proof of insurance; otherwise, we offer protection plan through a third party provider that is payable each month with your rental payment.
Yes, you will be entitled to a refund on a full month as long as you notify your Bluebird Self Storage store office before your payment due date.
Refunds are sent by mail - please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.
Your rental payments are due on your payment due date for the full month's rent. If you move out of your space after your payment due date, the full month's payment is due.
